Poland - Mildred Englehart, 85, of North Lima, formerly of Olde Stone Crossing, Poland, Ohio, passed away early Saturday morning at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Mildred affectionately known as "Mid" to friends and "Millie" to her family, was born August 15, 1927 in Youngstown, OH., a daughter of John and Anna Jamelsky Noufer.
She was raised in Youngstown, and moved to Poland in 1950. In January of 2012 she resided at the Marion Living Center at the Assumption Village.
A 1945 graduate of East High School, Mid received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Youngstown College in 1949. She taught 2nd grade at East Elementary for three years, retiring in 1952 to begin her family.
Mid was a member of the Seaton Club, the Quest Club, Republican Committee member, and worked for the Board of Elections as a poll worker for over 20 years. She was a charter member of the Holy Family Church in Poland.
After many years of working and raising a family, Mid and Carl began to enjoy their retirement. They loved traveling the world, seeing wonderful things, making new friends and enjoyed sharing a good bottle of wine. In their later years, Mid was a dedicated wife and caregiver to her husband Carl.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Carl H. Englehart, whom she married August 5, 1950; two sons, Gary (Mark Hamilton) Englehart of Lisbon and Randy Englehart of Youngstown; one daughter, Nancy (Steve) Iscuria of Jefferson, GA; and one brother, Charles (Mary) Noufer of Asheville, NC;
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church with Msgr. William Connell officiating. Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery, Poland.
Friends will be received Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland, where a Prayer Service will held Tuesday at 9:15 AM.
