Mildred C. Bell, 90
BOARDMAN - Mildred C. Bell, 90, went to be with her Lord on Jan. 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 17, 1921, in Youngstown, to Jesse and Marie Emch.
She graduated from Boardman High School in 1939 and then worked for the Penn Ohio Towel Supply Company. In 1943, she married William Bell. Following their move to Akron, she worked for the Good Year Tire Company for a short time.
Mildred greatly enjoyed her life as a homemaker, where she loved sewing, knitting, gardening and entertaining. She also worked as an Avon representative for many years. She served as head of the Hospitality Committee at the Evangel Baptist Church, where she was a long time member. Mildred was also an active member of the Christian Women's Club of Boardman, and various other women's groups, where she was a good friend to many. She was a beautiful example of a Christian wife, mother and grandmother. Among the many gifts to her family were her great devotion and countless hours shared with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, William; her brothers, Paul and Gerald Emch; her sister, Ruth Jardine; and her great-grandson Cian Bell.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Chichak, Richard (Jeri) Bell, Joanne (Kenneth) Ahlquist, and David (Teresa) Bell; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call Saturday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Old North Church, 7105 Herbert Road, Canfield, OH 44406.
A memorial service in her honor will follow at 5 p.m.
