Poland - Mildred I. Badjun, 90, of Poland, died Wednesday morning, May 14, at Sunrise Assisted Living.
Mrs. Badjun, affectionately known as Millie, was born January 1, 1924 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Anna Popovich Brozic.
Raised in Youngstown, Millie was a 1943 Woodrow Wilson High School. After high school and until raising her family, Millie worked as a Legal Secretary for numerous judges in Mahoning County. She was very proud of her career, but her family feels her greatest role was that of a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and cook.
Millie was a member of Holy Apostle Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Youngstown, and while living in Struthers, attended Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Catholic in Struthers.
Her husband William J. Badjun whom she married May 17, 1947 died June 8, 1987. She leaves one daughter, Maria (Gregory) Grischow of Struthers; son, Donald (Edwina) Badjun of Twinsburg; daughter-in-law, Robin Badjun of Ellenville, NY; sister-in-law, Mary Dimitriou of Youngstown; two grandsons, Alexander Badjun of Twinsburg and William (Melissa) Grischow of Boardman; one granddaughter, Annie (Brady Hank) Grischow of Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by two sons, William J. Badjun Jr. and Richard W. Badjun; ten brothers and sisters; Thomas Brozic, , Caroline Zitnik, Anna Matasic, Mary Parks, Dorothy Brozic, John Brozic, Phillip Brozic, Agnes Nemec, Robert Brozic, and George Brozic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 10:30 AM at Holy Apostle Parish at SS. Peter & Paul Church with Fr. Bernard Bonnot officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home 11 Spring Street, Struthers, where a Prayer Service will be held Monday at 9:45 AM.
