Mildred M. Arkwright, 82 North Lima- Mildred M. Arkwright, 82, of Assumption Village went home to be with the Lord the day after her birthday. She was born in Youngstown August 9, 1922, a daughter of Joseph J. and Mildred M. Smith. Mrs. Arkwright was a graduate of East High School and then graduated from the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing in 1945. She then became a Senior Nurse Cadet at Wakemen Hospital at Camp Atterbury in Indiana. She retired from the Youngstown Hospital Association (Southside Unit) after 40 years. Mrs. Arkwright was a member of the Aut-Mori Caldron #22 for 63 years and the Supreme Caldron. She served as M.C.O. in 1962; and was elected Supreme Secretary from 1987-1991. She also was a member of the Drill Team Unit, Patrol Unit, Daughter of the Year Unit, past M.C.O., Arts and Crafts Unit, the Greeters Unit, and the Buckeye Club. Mrs. Arkwright was a member of the Registered Nurse Association and the First Christian Church Her husband, Homer S. Arkwright, whom she married April 28, 1944, died March 9, 2000. She leaves two sons, Jim (Pat) Arkwright of Poland and Tom(Cheryl) Arkwright of Lexington ,Ohio; one brother, Bob(Betty) Smith of Mineral Ridge; three grandchildren, Jim (Julie) , Scott (Niki), and Bryan; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Avery. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence âa�A"Budâa�A� Smith; and one infant sister, Elizabeth Smith. Funeral services will be Friday 1PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call today from 5-8 at the funeral home. Memorial tributes may be given to the Hospice of the Valley.
