Michael V. "Mike" Urchak

Struthers - Michael V. "Mike" Urchak, 60, of Struthers, died Friday, April 15, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mike was born June 13, 1950 in Youngstown, a son of Mike Urchak and Sophie Mistovich Simon

He was a 1968 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Mr. Urchak worked as an Electronics Service Technician for M & G Vending in Brookfield, the Youngstown United, Inc., and the Acme Music and Vending for over 20 years.

Mike was an Eagle Scout, an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and enjoyed drag racing in his younger years. He loved to work outdoors and enjoyed gardening and planting flowers and trees. Mr. Urchak also volunteered for the Second Chance Animal Shelter.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Donna Spiker, whom he married on July 10, 1971; a son, David Holt of Stow; two grandchildren, Danielle and Kellie Holt; three sisters, Monica (Ray D. Hetrick) Minck of League City, TX, Linda (John) Cifalde of Poland, and Michele Simon of Youngstown; brother, John (Kathy) Urchak of Youngstown; his mother-in-law, Elsie Spiker of Struthers; his stepmother, Margaret Urchak of Poland; he also is surivived my numerous nieces and newphews; and his three cats, Frankie, Ziggy, and Girly-Girl.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by best friend, Dale Nordquist; his cats, Zip and Crusty.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Quaintance officiating. Internment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Mike's caregiver, Louella Fleet, and the staff of St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center and in particular his nurse, Marti Noles, for the wonderful care given to him.
