Michael John Schwartz

POLAND - Michael John Schwartz, 72, died May 13, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Mr. Schwartz was born Nov. 9, 1939, in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Mary Gyetvai Schwartz.
He was a 1957 Campbell Memorial High School graduate and attended Youngstown State University.
He went on to work as a crane operator in the coal strip for Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV), from where he retired in 1983. After retirement, he then worked in security for OSS and Shane Security.
He was a member of the Holy Apostles Parish St. Stephen of Hungary Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He also was a member of The Saxon Club.
Michael was an avid golfer and Ohio sports fan and enjoyed going to the casinos with his wife.
He leaves behind his wife, the former Joan Norwood of Poland, whom he married May 22, 1965; two daughters, Mary Ellen Schwartz of Poland and Michelle Schwartz of Poland; and his beloved Pug, Lily.
He was preceded in death by both his parents.
A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 11:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at the Holy Apostles Parish St. Stephen of Hungary Church, with Fr. Bob Bonnot officiating.
Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Michael's family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley, the staff at Boardman St. Elizabeth Floor 3 West, and Dr. Theodore Cubbison for their excellent care.
