Youngstown - Michael "Mick" W. Polder, 66, died December 10, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Polder was born March 18, 1948 in Youngstown, son of Michael and Genevieve McGowan Polder.
Mick was a 1966 Austintown Fitch High School graduate. He worked at General Motors in the Fab Plant for 33 years, where he was a carpenter an EAP representative before retiring in 1999. He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1968-1970 stationed in Germany during Vietnam. Mick enjoyed spending time with his breakfast club friends and was an avid reader, particularly history related. He also enjoyed his dogs as well as jazz music.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dolores Tavarozzi, whom he married Dec. 19, 1986; one daughter, Michele (Frank) Senediak of Austintown; one son, Michael (Carly) Polder of Austintown; one step-daughter, Debbie Gonda of Indianapolis; three sisters, Marianne (Robert) Ewing of Columbus, Joan (Philip) Smrek of Canfield, and Karen (Mitchell) Joseph of Canfield; and four grandchildren, Sophia and Frank Senediak,; Marissa Polder and Kaitlin Stanac.
Besides his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Denise Gonda.
