STRUTHERS - Michael A. Orf, 47, died Monday evening, Nov. 23, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center after a battle with cancer.
Michael, affectionately known as "Mike," was born May 3, 1968, in Youngstown, a son of George and Irene Hempstead Orf.
A 1986 graduate of Struthers High School, he completed his apprenticeship program through the Ironworkers Local 207. Mike worked as a journeyman ironworker and often did work for Youngstown Bridge & Iron through the Ironworkers Local 207.
Mike's hobbies included spending time with his family, camping, playing video games, and he loved anything Star Wars.
In addition to his mother, Irene Orf of Struthers, Mike leaves his wife, the former Cindy Slifka; two sons, Michael A. Orf Jr. and Kenneth Orf both at home; two brothers, Charles (Mary Jo) Orf of Franklin, Pa. and Kenneth (Debbie) Orf of Lowellville; mother-in-law, Linda Slifka of Boardman; and two nephews, Charles and Jacob Orf.
In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Slifka.
There will be a private memorial service held for the family.
