Canfield - Michael Klacik, 80, of Canfield, died Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Michael was born December 23, 1930 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Mary Gorej Klacik. He was raised in Youngstown and resided in Struthers most of his life until moving to Canfield five years ago.
A 1949 graduate of Chaney High School, Michael was employed at Isaly's Dairy Company and Schwebel Baking Company, where he retired after 19 years of service. He started his own business, MK Realty in 1962, which was renamed to Klacik Real Estate in 1969.
Michael was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers and the Knights of Columbus, Struthers Chapter.
A United States Air Force Veteran, Michael served during the Korean War from 1952 until 1956.
He greatly enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was always ready to go. Michael enjoyed casinos, beaches, amusement parks, sporting events, and family gatherings.
He leaves his wife, the former Elaine Katcher, whom he married November 24, 1950; three sons, Michael (Linda) Klacik of Struthers, David (Sue) Klacik and Robert (Mary Ann) Klacik, both of Canfield; three brothers, John (Joan) Klacik of Boardman, Paul (Julie) Klacik and Steve (Betty) Klacik both of Austintown; and one sister, Helen (Jim) Kenneally of Youngstown.
Grandpa loved his special grandchildren dearly. He always had a big smile when he was with Michael, Brittany, Katilyn, Kayla, David, Nicholas, Mary, Erik and Haylee.
Besides his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Bukovinsky; and a grandson, Matthew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with with Fr. John Jerek officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where a prayer service will held Friday at 10:15 AM..
