Michael Craig Gaskill

New Springfield - Michael Craig Gaskill, 61, of New Springfield died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Gaskill was born August 20, 1946 in Rochester, NY, the son of Willard and Dorothy Craig Gaskill. A graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Mike attended Youngstown State University. He was a concessionaire owner and worked at fairs throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. Mike was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a former member of the Pennsylvania Showmen and loved to collect NASCAR memorabilia. Mike was Catholic by faith. He leaves his wife, the former Nancy Wire, whom he married December 17, 1976; his daughter, Amy Gaskill of Columbiana; four grandchildren, RJ, Matthew, and Brittany Furbee and Haley Gaskill-Gibbs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Gaskill, Jr. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where family and friends will be received Monday from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
