Lowellville - Michael Lewis Cannon, Sr., 58, of Lowellville, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Hospice House. Michael was born April 27, 1949 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Lewis and Mary Alice Sarver Cannon. He attended East High School and worked as a crane operator and welder for various area steel mills. He was of Lutheran faith and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Cleveland Browns. Michael loved fishing, swimming, bird watching, and was an animal lover. He leaves his fiancée, Susan Gilbert, with whom he made his home; two daughters, Kellie (Mathew) Capan-Parry and Michelle Cannon, both of Struthers; a son, Michael Cannon, Jr. of Austintown; three step-daughters, Dawn Melnak of Struthers, Amber Melnak, and Sarah (Robert) Green, both of Austintown; two granddaughters, Courtney Capan and Gianna Mary Cannon; two step-grandsons, Jesse Charles Bollinger, Jr. and Dakota James Melnak; and his beloved dog, Faith and his cat, Nightmare. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Larry R. Kuhns, Jr. who was killed in action in Iraq. There will be no calling hours. The family will hold a private memorial service at Geneva on the Lake in August at sunset. Please visit
