Michael Botsko, 85 Struthers- Funeral services will be held at Thursday 9:30AM at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10AM at Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church for Michael Botsko,85, who passed away at his residence Monday morning after a 7 year illness. Michael was born in Struthers on August 21, 1920,a son of Stephen and Elizabeth Klenotic Botsko. He was a member of Saint Nicholas Church and Altar Rosary Society. A 1940 graduate of Struthers High School he worked in the maintenance department of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Brier Hill where he worked till 1983. He also worked part time at Viking Manufacturing in Struthers. Michael was a veteran of World War II serving with the 58th Air Services Group in the Pacific and attended 32 of the groups reunions held annually throughout the country. He was president of Lodge 146 Slovak Gymnastic Union Sokol and served as manager of the Sokal U.S.Club He was a member of the Greek Catholic Union Lodge 308, the Struthers Athletic Club , the Struthers VFW Post 3538. He was an avid bowler and bowled in many bowling leagues. He is survived by his wife, Louise Palascak, whom he married on August 23, 1947, a son, Michael (Julie) Botsko of Grand Havens, MI; a friend, Dottie Poppineau who he referred to the family as an adopted daughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John and Joseph; and sisters, Ann Novak; and Katherine Kutsko Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent at
