Metrechia "Tish" A. Soper
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, in Boardman for Metrechia A. "Tish" Soper, 66 of Boardman. She passed away Wednesday at her home.
Tish was born February 24, 1948 in Youngstown, a daughter of Frank M. and Margaret Anne Firth Soper. She is a 1966 graduate of Boardman High School and was a member of the national Honor Society and the choir. She received her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University in 1970 with a major in history and a minor in math. She taught at St. Stanislaus Elementary School and Dillonvale Jr. High. She continued her education by attending Jefferson County Technical College for accounting classes and returned to YSU to complete her MBA.
Tish was hired at Kent State University - Salem Branch to teach accounting and management retiring after 39 years of teaching. While at KSU she participated on many committees serving as a Senator, representing the Regional Campuses in several capacities for four years.
She is survived by her sister Fran (Tom) Malone of Boardman, a nephew Lance Malone, a niece Tracy (Brian Moore) Malone, and great nieces and nephews, Kaden, Grace and Cooper Moore and Raina Malone. Also her best friends Jane Ross and Gary Russo
Preceding her in death besides her parents is a great niece Payton Moore and her cat Babe.
Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman and on Monday from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at the church.
