Poland - Melissa A. Pitko, 38, went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2014 at Hospice House after a long battle with MS.
Melissa was born September 17, 1975 in Youngstown, a daughter of Dave and Bonnie Riebe Pitko.
She was a 1993 Mooney High School graduate, where she lettered in soccer and softball. She worked as a dental assistant, until she was no longer able to work.
Melissa was a member of the Church of the Rock in Poland. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan. Melissa loved animals, and
played ball at the Slovak SOKOL and was a member of the MS Society.
She is survived by her parents, Dave and Bonnie Pitko of Youngstown; two sisters, Michelle (Ed) Gonda of Youngstown and Sharon (Bill) Shaw of Dallas, TX; nieces and nephews, Eddie and Nick Gonda, Kirsten and Madison Shaw, and Ashley (Joe) Carothers.
Funeral services will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home 270 N. Main St., Poland, Friday at 12:00 PM with Pastor Reid Lamport officiating.
Friends and family will be received 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the funeral home.
