Matthew B. Clinkscale, 32
NEW MIDDLETOWN - Matthew B. Clinkscale, 32, passed away Monday, July 2, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Matt was born May 21, 1980, in Youngstown, a son of Ralph Sr. and Kathy Georgaris Clinkscale.
He was a 1998 graduate of Struthers High School, where he excelled in both basketball and football. A member of Struthers Church of Christ, Matt was a Sunday school teacher for the Cradle Roll Class.
Matt was a family oriented person and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed taking his sons to the bike trail to see the trains, playing basketball and vacationing with his family in Myrtle Beach. He was very excited to be treating his sons to their very first airplane flight this Sunday to Myrtle Beach.
Matt was known for his infectious smile. He never knew a stranger and made friends where ever he traveled. He was a wonderful and loving husband and father. He also played a integral part in the lives and activities of two of his nephews, Anthony and Daron. Matt was an avid University of Michigan fan and enjoyed attending football games with his brother-in-law, Chris. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Matt was employed in the Trim Department at General Motors, Lordstown, for the past 12 years. It was at General Motors that he met the love of his life, Theresa Lukanec. They were married on June 17, 2006.
Besides his parents and wife, Matt leaves behind his two sons, Jalen Matthew and Braylon Xavier Clinkscale; his grandmother, Betty Georgaris; two brothers, Ralph Clinkscale Jr. of Austintown and Nick (Heather) Clinkscale of Struthers; one sister, Sermona Clinkscale of Baltimore; father and mother-in-law, Edward "Mickey" and Karen Lukanec of East Palestine; brother and sisters-in-law, Keith Lukanec of Ravenna, Stacie (Chris) Stran of Belleville, Mich., and Karrie Lukanec of Lisbon; 14 and nieces and nephews, Delshon, Shondel, JaRod, Anthony, Daron, Ralph III, Rhya, George, Melina, Morgan, Nolan, Ashley, Kendra, and Kelsey.
Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Madison and Mattie Clinkscale and James "Joe" Georgaris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ of Struthers, with Brent Covan officiating. Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery in Poland.
Friends will be received Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church
