Marylou Wingrove, 87
BOARDMAN - Marylou Wingrove, 87, died Feb. 1, 2014, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center.
Mrs. Wingrove was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Philamena Coniglio Farina.
She was a 1944 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was a member of the junior and senior honor societies, starting with the seventh grade. Marylou attended Youngstown State University, Arizona Western College, and studied voice with Albert Holtz Hausen at Dana School of Music.
She was business office supervisor at Ohio Bell for 24 years and special accounts representative for Bell of Pennsylvania, retiring in 1973. She also worked at Arizona Public Service in Yuma, Ariz., as bookkeeper, retiring in 1992. She sang with the Ohio Bell Chorus and was choir member and soloist at the Central Christian Church.
Mrs. Wingrove had been production co-chairman at Youngstown Playhouse and appeared in productions there, as well as Temple Ohevtzedek. She was Past President and board member of the Hi Jolly Chapter of Sweet Adeline's. She was voted Sweet Adeline of the year 1980 to 1981. Marylou was an active Republican, she worked as precinct committeeman and voter registrar for many years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and sang with the quartet "Summersounds."
Her husband, J. Floyd Wingrove, whom she married Nov. 20, 1948, at the Trinity Methodist Church, died Jan. 15, 2011.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Josephine Farina of Boardman and five nephews, John Farina of Boardman, David Farina of Ashtabula, Thomas Farina of Boardman, Joseph Farina of St. John's, Fla., and Gerald Farina of Bloomington, Ill.
Besides her parents and husband, Marylou was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas J. and Louis A Farina; and a sister, Rose L. Graham.
Services will be held at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with Pastor James Berkebile officiating.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday from 4 to 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
