MaryAnne Deibel

April 22, 1926 — March 13, 2011

A 1943 graduate of Saint Columbkille High School, MaryAnne received her Bachelor's in Sociology from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa in 1948.

MaryAnne was a true lady. She was a loving mother to five, a religious lady, and part of the "Greatest Generation". She was fortunate enough to travel the world and many were fortunate to have her touch their lives.

Without hesitation, MaryAnne helped those in need. The Beatitude House, Catholic Charities, Butler Art Institute and countless organizations will forever benefit from her association with them.

She lived life to the fullest and instilled that passion in the hearts of her children. Her children, David, Debby, Janie, Peggy and Chris were her true legacy to her life. They along with her nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren will always be her pride and joy.

MaryAnne leaves her son, David Deibel of North Lima; three daughters and their husbands, Debra and James Hatherill, of Alliance, and their three children, Jennifer Hatherill-Sasse (Alana, Kaya, and Joshua) of Berlin, Germany, Jodi Hatherill-O'Brien (James and Cohen) of Alliance, and Kristen Hatherill (Eilidh) of Alliance; Janie and Pat Prendergast of Denver, CO, and their three children, Katie Prendergast of Laguna Beach, CA, Tom Prendergast of Golden, CO and Lauren Prendergast of Chicago, IL; Peggy and Mike Humes of Boardman, and their three children, Kara Bethany of Medina, OH, (Sean, Paige, and Claire), Becky Lonardo of Columbus, OH (Vinny Lonardo) and Julie Humes of Columbus; one brother, John Becker of Erie, PA; and one sister, Ruth Becker of Dubuque, IA . She was also survived by her constant companion, Minnie, her shih tzu

Besides her parents, MaryAnne was preceded in death by her son, Chris Deibel; brothers, Lawrence, Robert, Howard, Willis, and Charles Becker; and sisters, Joan Gonner, Virginia Dawson, and Kathryn Glover.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. Friends will be received Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.

In consideration of the Season of Lent, please do not send flowers. The family would prefer memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512 and Oblate Sisters Novitiate, 50 Warner Road, Hubbard, OH 44425.
