Youngstown - Maryann Surko, 67, of Youngstown, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Surko was born June 4, 1943 in Youngstown, a daughter of Paul and Anna Di Cicco Marchionda.
She was a 1961 graduate of Struthers High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mrs. Surko enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and entertaining. Mrs. Surko also enjoyed volunteering at her grandchildren's schools.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joseph M. Surko, whom she married June 6, 1965; two daughters, Karen (Tony) Frattaroli of Poland and Diane Surko of Struthers; three sons, Joseph Surko of Poland, Thomas Surko of Youngstown and Daniel Surko of Youngstown; four brothers, Albert (Mary) Lucio of MI, Tony (Rose) Lucio of Liberty, Carmen (Ann) Marchionda of North Lima and Sam (Sally) Marchionda of Youngstown; and 2 grandchildren, Mya Snyder and Phillip Synder, III.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will be received Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowellville.
