Mary Ann (Liptak) Laurie

Struthers - Mary Ann Laurie, 85, of Struthers, died Friday afternoon, November 16, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House after a short illness.

Mary Ann was born May 17, 1933 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of Frank and Anna Szurilla Liptak.

Raised in Youngstown, Mary Ann was a 1951 graduate of Chaney High School. She married her husband, Vincent Laurie on September 12, 1953 and they made their home in Struthers. After raising her three children, in 1970, Mary Ann went to work for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown as a lab technician. She retired in 1995 after 25 years of service. Mary Ann was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and was a party planner, extraordinaire.

After 29 years of marriage, Vincent died on July 17, 1983. Mary Ann leaves one son, Anthony Laurie of Struthers; two daughters, Dianne (Ken) Anderson of Boardman and Cynthia (Lou) Rose of Westerville, OH; three grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Harper of Philadelphia, PA, Anthony (Kathryn) Laurie of Chicago, IL, and Clelia and Asher Rose of Westerville, OH; and three great-grandchildren, Michael and Brady Harper, and Gavin Laurie.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by sisters, Olga Liptak, Dorothy Lukach, and Theresa Sullivan.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home with Deacon Paul Lisko officiating. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery

Friends will be received Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
