Mary Ann Yarwood

BOARDMAN Mary Ann Yarwood, 85, passed away peacefully Dec. 31, 2017, at her residence with her family by her side.
Mary Ann was born July 8, 1932, in Athens, a daughter of George and Mary Stevens Metcalf.
She was a 1949 graduate of Howland High School. She went on to receive a degree in nursing from Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing in 1953. Mary Ann later received a degree as a Nurse Anesthetist from St.
Elizabeth¹s. She was a nurse at Northside and Southside Hospital, St.
Elizabeth¹s, and Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital. Mary Ann loved cooking, gardening, reading, and puzzles.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Thomas) Cusick of Boardman; one son, Dave (Sharon) Shallenberger of Newark; two brothers, Chuck and Daniel Metcalf; grandchildren Christina, Melissa, Julia and Jessica; great-grandchildren Charlie, Alexis, Hailey, Tiffany, Jessica, Michael, and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her caregiver for the last one and a half years, Lottie.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Shallenberger; her second husband, Richard Yarwood; one sister, Geraldine; and two brothers, Bob and Dave.
The family would like to thank the staff at Southern Care Hospice for their excellent care.
There will be no services or calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
