Austintown - Mary J. Tiratto, 94, of Austintown, formerly of Lowellville, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Austinwoods Health Care Center. Mrs. Tiratto was born Tuesday, October 13, 1914 in Rochester, PA, a daughter of John & Margaret Nocera Zinger. She was a 1933 graduate of Lowellville High School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, where she was a member of its Christian Mothers, a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Club in Lowellville, and the American Legion Auxillary in Lowellville. Mrs. Tiratto worked at Strous's for 10 years, where she served refreshments, and also was a poll worker for 15 years for the Mahoning County Board of Elections. Her husband, Benjamin J. "Ben" Tiratto, whom she married May 26, 1938, died February 12, 1994. She leaves one daughter, Rosemarie (Duane) Wallace of Austintown; one son, Joseph (Betty) Tiratto of Hubbard; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Tiratto; and two brothers, Peter and Sam Zinger. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church with Rev. G. David Weikart officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Rosary Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville and Thursday from 9-10 a.m., where prayer services will be held at 10 a.m. Contributions may be made to the Susan G.
