Poland - Mary was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on April 6, 1932. She was the youngest child of John and Caroline Pahut. She was a lifelong resident of both Youngstown and Poland.
Mary attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School and graduated from South High School in 1950. She was employed at the Dollar Savings and Trust Co. until her marriage to Frank Sympson, Sr. in 1953. She became a stay-at-home mom, and alongside her husband raised five children, four sons and a daughter. They were her pride and joy.
She was a member of St. Dominic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. Cooking pierogis was her favorite pastime, as she volunteered at the kitchen of St. Stanislaus, and could be found frying them on her stove for her family every Christmas Eve. Additionally, she loved to watch football and play cards.
Cherishing her memory are her sons, Frank Jr., Thomas (Renee), James (Barb), Kenneth (Heidi); and her daughter, MaryEllen (Jim Chismar). She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sr. Mary Maximina, FOC, Joanne Pahut, Helene Krispinsky, Adele Glista; and brothers, Sgt. Stanley Pahut, and Paul "Brownie" Pahut.
