Poland - Mary Elizabeth Stacy, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2012 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
Mary was born September 14, 1919 in Youngstown into the loving family of John and Susanna (Uitto) Namie.
She was a 1939 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and had resided in Poland her entire life. She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church of New Middletown and had greatly enjoyed her experience with the Jewish/Christian Dialog Group.
On August 14, 1943 she married James Harold Stacy, who died August 30, 1981.
Mary was a homemaker with many interests. She shared her passion for reading and love of sports and took an active interest in politics as a member of the Poland Republican Women's Committee and after was presiding judge thru her 25 years on the board of voters.
She taught her family many wise solutions to life difficulties and set a clean standard of living for them to follow. Her witty sense of humor, which she kept until the very end, brought smiles and laughter to all who know her. In her later years the combination of her independent nature and dementia got her into much mischief. Even in her 90's at her Masternick home you would hear "Slow down Mary" many times a day. She was also the trivia queen there and was loved by many residents and staff alike. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Susan Noel of Columbiana ; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Stacy of Lowellville; four grandchildren, Ron (Staci) Solvesky, Colleen (Jeff) Ritterspach, Jim (April) Stacy, Gary Stacy; and 7 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Cody, and Chase Stacy; Brooke and Heather Ritterspach; and Harleigh and Hunter Solvesky.
