Boardman - Mary Catherine Sharp, 93, of New Middletown, formerly of Boardman, died late Tuesday afternoon at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
Mary Catherine was born April 27, 1918 in Brent, PA, a daughter of William and Mary Knight Bowers. She move toYoungstown in 1934 and then to Poland in 1941.
Mary Catherine was employed as an assembler for Modern Storm Doors for many years. During World War II she worked at Douglass Aircraft as a riveter in Chicago, Illinois.
In her spare time Mary Catherine enjoyed bowling and watching movies. She was a member of the former Lady Moose Club of Youngstown.
Her husband, Harry Sharp, whom she married August 3, 1937, died October 1, 1987. She leaves one daughter, Ruthann (Paul) Hvizdos of Poland; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary Catherine was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Kling; and eight brothers, William, Joseph, John, Earl, Kenneth, Ladd, Harry and Thomas Bowers; two sisters, Sally Colnot and Helen Flick
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Pastor Don Scott Monaco officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio.
Friends will be received Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and from Monday from 10 to 10:45 AM at the funeral home.
