Mary J. Repasky, 82 Struthers- Mary J. Repasky, 82, of 20 East Parkcliff, died Wednesday evening at her residence. Mrs. Repasky was born September 21, 1921, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Stella Stecewycz Doroshenko. She was a life-long area resident of Struthers. Mrs. Repasky along with her husband Mike, owned and operated the well known Ripâa�a��s Café, a family owned business, established in 1933 in Struthers. After the death of her husband in 1986, Mary became sole proprietor. Mrs. Repasky, affectionately known as Bubba Rip, was well known for her ethnic food and created Ripâa�a��s famous âa�A"Hunky Platterâa�A� which is a combination consisting of Pirohy, Halushky & Holubky. Her cooking was her passion and she enjoyed educating her family and friends with her recipes and welcomed visitors into her home with food and comfort. Mrs. Repasky taught ethnic cooking for the home economics class for Poland Seminary High School, produced a cooking video for family and friends, and made it available to the public. She belonged to the ENTRU-NU 500 card club for 66 years and enjoyed sewing and was an Extension Service/Sewing 4H advisor. Her many hobbies included baseball, flowers, gardening and food canning. Mrs. Repasky was a 1939 graduate of Struthers High School and a member of St. Michaelâa�a��s Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell. Her husband Mike Repasky, whom she married September 20, 1941, died January 18, 1986. She leaves a son, Ray (Monica) Repasky of Poland; three daughters, Patty (Richard) Norman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Janet (Leonard) Morris and Marilyn (Donald) Watt all of Struthers; two brothers, Walter Lychako of Ocala, Fl., and John (Lillian) Doroshenko of Hartwell, GA.; grandchildren, Lisa (Andrew) Leatherman, Michael (Jennifer) Repasky, Rick Norman, Scott (Melissa) Norman, Monte (Kerri) Morris, Stacy (Sam) Braun and Jacob and Patrick Watt; great-grandchildren, Emily, Natalie and Abby Leatherman, Hannah and Ryan Repasky, Courtney and Dusty Norman, Zoey and Zane Norman and Johnathan Morris. Besides her parents and husband, one sister, Jennie Doroshenko, one brother and sister-in-law Gene and Florence Lyren and a sister-in-law, Jean Lychako preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Monday 10:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaelâa�a��s Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell. Friends may call Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
