Mary Lucille Pomeroy

Mary Lucille Pomeroy, 81 Franklin- Mary Lucille Pomeroy, 81 of The Caring Place in Franklin, Pennsylvania formerly of Bedford Rd. in Lowellville died Friday evening at the nursing home. Mrs. Pomeroy was born January 9, 1922 in Struthers, a daughter of Dale Quinn and Jennie Meyer Shaffer. She was a life-long area resident of the Struthers-Lowellville area. She was a 1940 graduate of Struthers High School and was a clerk for the Lowellville Bank and a homemaker. She was a member of the Mahoning Presbyterian Church, Lowellville Garden Club and the Dorcas Missionary Society. Her husband John C. Pomeroy, whom she married December 12, 1942 died December 18, 1999. She leaves one daughter Kathleen (Dan) Paulo of Franklin, Pennsylvania; one son John C. (Marcia) Pomeroy, Jr., of State College, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Jennie Gibboney of Edinburg, Pennsylvania and Dorothy McLaughlin and Della June Patterson both of Struthers; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, two sisters, Edna Smith and Doris Deiley and two brothers, Dale and William Shaffer preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1:00 PM at the Mahoning Presbyterian Church. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville and 12-12:45 PM Tuesday at the church. Contributions may be made to the church.
