Mary Ann Petrek

Mary Ann Petrek, 82 Struthers- Mary Ann Petrek, 82, died Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mrs. Petrek was born December 23, 1921 in Struthers, a daughter of Francesco and Emilia Barbieri Minghetti. She was a life-long area resident of Struthers. A Valedictorian of her 1940 graduating class of Struthers High School, Mrs. Petrek was a homemaker and at one time worked at the Struthers Hardware. Mrs. Petrek was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers where she sang in the choir for over 47 years, and was a member of itsâa�a�� Altar and Rosary Society and Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. She was a member of the Struthers Music Club. Her husband Frank Petrek whom she married October 23, 1954 died December 13, 1980. She leaves two daughters, Joan (Patrick) Catullo of Boardman and Marianne (Thomas) Owens of Struthers; one son, Frank (Mindy) Petrek Jr., of West Chester, Ohio, and three grandchildren, Mallory Petrek, Kristen Petrek and Marena Owens. Besides her parents and husband, four sisters, Teresina Minghetti, Julia Minghetti, Nellie Minghetti and Theresa Popovich, and two brothers, John and Frank Minghetti preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Monday, 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church.
