Mary Nancy Thomas, 79 Poland- Mary Nancy Thomas, 79 of 2586 Manor Avenue died at her residence Saturday morning. She was born December 25, 1923 in Struthers, a daughter of Angelo and Erma Deâa�a��Phillips Giancola and was a life long resident of the area. She was a 1942 graduate of Struthers High School and in 1965 graduated from the Choffin School of Practical Nursing. She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Omni Manor and Maplecrest Nursing Homes retiring in 1995 after 30 years. Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. Nicholas Church where she had been president of the Mothers Club, a member of the Alter and Rosary, a Sacricist and was a member of the AARP of St. Nicholas. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed crocheting. She leaves her husband, Louis (Red) Thomas whom she married July 3, 1947; two daughters, Mary Lou Denney of Youngstown and Erma (Bill) Shea of Struthers; three sisters, Sarah (Tony) Mignella of Niles, Jean Miletta of Poland and Erma (Herbert) Niemi of North Lima; two brothers, Danny (Sue) Giancola of Struthers and Angelo (Joan) Giancola, Jr.of Howland and six grandchildren. Two sisters, Nancy Sylvester and Anne Giancola and two brothers, Joe and Benedict Giancola are deceased. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Monday and from 8:30-9:15 AM Tuesday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Nicholas Church.
