Mary Elizabeth Meehan, 95 Lowellville-Mary Elizabeth Meehan, 95, died Thursday morning at the Greenbriar Healthcare Center. Mrs. Meehan was born April 6, 1912 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, a daughter of John E. and Anna Naughton Fee coming to Lowellville in 1940. Mrs. Meehan graduated from New Castle High School and was a Registered Nurse graduating from the St. Francis School of Nursing. She had worked for the State of Pennsylvania as a Visiting Nurse and also did private duty nursing. During World War II Mrs. Meehan worked as a nurse in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and volunteered with the Red Cross. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Lowellville Garden Club where she was a past president.. She leaves three sons, William J. and his wife Monica of Lowellville, James J. and his wife Susan of Poland and Paul F. and his wife Patty of Lowellville; nine grandchildren; Lawrence III, Mary Louisa, Rebecca, Bridget, Matthew, Kelly, Bryan, James and Kristin and nine great grandchildren. Mary Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence L. (Red) Meehan, whom she married September 21, 1940, on August 21, 1996; two sons, John and Lawrence L. Jr.; a twin sister, Mildred, who died at birth; five brothers, Patrick Fee, William C. Fee, Lawrence (Dutch) Fee, Leo Fee and Francis (Honey) Fee, She dedicated her life to her family and friends residing in Lowellville as a homemaker for the remainder of her life. She will be most fondly remembered by her family for her unfailing cheery disposition and sparkling blue eyes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald M. DeLucia at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home 244 McGill St. Lowellville where Prayers will be recited at 10:00 AM Wednesday prior to the procession to Church. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Greenbriar.
