Poland - Mary Joan Masucci, 77, of Poland, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at her daughter's home after an extended battle with Alzheimer disease. Mrs. Masucci, affectionately known as "Joanne" to her family and friends, was born March 16, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of Albert and Anna Rapp Dahms. She worked for Buechner Hall as manager of housekeeping, retiring in 1995. She was a former member of St. Dominic Church. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her smile, dignity, and love of life. Her husband, Al Masucci, preceded her in death February 18, 1995; with love, she leaves her daughter, Cyndi Argiro of Poland; her son, Arthur Carlson of Syracuse, NY; two granddaughters, Melissa (Dan) Florig of Hudson and Jennifer (Jarod) Markus of Columbus; two grandsons, Patrick (Abbey) Argiro of Poland and Vince (Leeann) Argiro of Struthers; five great-grandchildren, Daniel and Jack Florig, Braden Markus, Nicholas Argiro, and Kamyron Jones; two brothers-in-law, John (Judy) and Steve (Nancy) Masucci; a sister-in-law, Rose Masucci; and nieces and nephews, John, Lisa, Nancy Ann, and Michael Masucci. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Carlson; brother and sister-in-law, Betty and Steve Dahms; and a son-in-law, Randy Argiro. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
