Struthers - Mary Louise "Mern" Lucente, 82, of Struthers, died Tuesday morning at Hospice House.
Mrs. Lucente was born June 21, 1930 in Campbell, a daughter of Zack and Mary Mazerik Wittway.
She was a 1949 graduate of South High School. Mrs. Lucente was a stay at home mom until the youngest of her seven children started high school. She then went on to work as a retail manager at Memory Lane in Southern Park Mall for 25 years. She also worked at the Burlington Coat Factory.
Mary was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, and reading.
Her husband, Ralph, whom she married June 21, 1952, died July 11, 1993.
She is survived by four daughters, Susan (Richard) Beck of Boardman, Deborah (Gary) Furman of Struthers, Barbara (John) Leckwart of Struthers, and Martha Lucente of Struthers; three sons, James Lucente of Gahanna, OH, Anthony Lucente of Cleveland, NC, and John (Pam) Lucente of Struthers; ten grandchildren, Ryan and Bradley Beck, Angela Lucente, Carlin Lucente, Nicole Lucente, Toni Marie Lucente, Lindsay Lucente, Kayla Lucente, Anthony Lucente, and Joseph Lucente; and two great-grandchildren, Regan and Aniston. She also leaves behind Mary Miller of Columbus.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her step-father who raised her, Ralph DeLuca; and one brother, Zachary Wittway.
The family would like to thank the staff at MVI Hospice, especially Chloe and Kelly for their excellent care.
A memorial mass will be held Friday 12PM at Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church in Struthers.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 10AM-12PM at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
