Mary A. Kubina

Boardman - Mary A. Kubina, 87, died August 15, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Mrs. Kubina was born August 8, 1926 in Youngtown, daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Yakubov) Dzurko.
She was a 1944 Campbell Memorial High School graduate. In her younger years Mary worked at Rooney Optical and later worked for Hallmark Company. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish at St Matthias.
Her husband, Joseph R. Kubina, whom she married Aug. 23, 1947, died May 14,1999.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Tortora of Boardman and Kathleen (Thomas) Picken of Ashtabula; two sons, Joseph Kubina of New Middletown and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Kubina of Columbia, MD; five grandchildren, Chad Kubina, Samantha and Vanessa Tortora, Gwen and Caitlin Kubina.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Dzurko.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:15AM at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish at St. Matthias at 10:00 AM with Fr. Martin Celuch officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
