Mary Saylor (Crawford) Gleckler

Canfield - Mary Saylor Gleckler, 105, of Canfield, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Briarfield Manor in Austintown.

Mary was born September 16, 1914 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Elwood and Mary Saylor Crawford.

Raised in Youngstown, Mary was a graduate of South High School, Class of 1932. She worked in sales for Newton Manufacturing for over 23 years and retired in 1989.

Mary and her husband Harold entertained weekly with ease and grace at their beloved home on Leffiingwell Road. They were passionate for the arts and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, experiencing the riches that other countries had to offer. They especially appreciated the culture and the arts of Mexico, Portugal, and Spain. Mary was also a voracious reader and lover of animals and birds.

She was a loyal and long-time member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman.

Mary's husband of 50 years, Harold W. Gleckler, whom she married February 1, 1936, died August 6, 1986. Mary leaves numerous cousins including her cousin Edna of Jeanette, Pa.

A private prayer service for Mary was held today. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Boardman, Ohio.
