Mary Barbara Storkovich Fox, 92 Mary Barbara Storkovich Fox, 92, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 15th. Mary was born in Clover Creek, Pennsylvania on July 21st, 1914, the daughter of Marko and Dora Ratkay Storkovich. The family later moved to Bradyâa�a��s Bend, Pennsylvania where Mary attended East Brady High School and enjoyed growing up with her four wonderful brothers. As a young woman, Mary visited family in California several times, and in 1943 she joined the Marine Corps in California. After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Mary left the service and returned to Butler, Pennsylvania where she worked in an ammunitions plant during World War II. She later came to Ohio where she worked at the Ohio Leather Works in Girard. In May 1946, Mary married James Fox in Greensboro, North Carolina. They lived in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania until moving to Youngstown permanently in 1952. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers; Michael Storkovich, Nikola Storkovich, Joseph Storkovich, and George Storkovich. In 1948, Mary and Jim had a son who was stillborn and Mary always missed him and had a love for children, especially little boys. Mary was a wonderful and loving mother who always wanted the best for her family. She was a great homemaker whose cooking and baking was totally enjoyed by her husband and daughters. Mary was of the Catholic faith and extremely proud of her Croatian heritage. Whenever she was able, she and her family would go to Strossmayerâa�a��s Croatian Picnic Grounds or to St. Georgeâa�a��s Lodge. She leaves her husband James and daughters Deborah Ann Fox and Dolores Diane Fox, both of Boardman; a special nephew, Douglas Storkovich of San Rafael, CA; her loving dog, Lisa Marie; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Mom, you gave us the unconditional love that only a mother can give. We will never forget. Your beautiful blue eyes, lovely smile, and all the sweet ways about you will be missed more than could ever be expressed by mere words. You were and will continue to be the heart of our family. Calling hours will be Sunday, 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where a prayer service will be conducted at 4:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 19th at St. Patrickâa�a��s Church in Bradyâa�a��s Bend, Pennsylvania with internment at St. Maryâa�a��s Cemetery in Bradyâa�a��s Bend. The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Doctors Cubbison, Sweeney, Gady, the 4th floor of St. Elizabethâa�a��s Hospital; a special thanks to Georgeann De Rose, R.N. of the Council on Aging for her compassion and support, and the local Multiple Sclerosis Society who helped so much.
