Mount Juliet, TN - Mary Margaret Dimoff, 89, formerly of Poland, died Monday morning, January 25, 2016 at Summit Medical Center in Tennessee.
Mrs. Dimoff was born March 25, 1926 in Struthers, a daughter of Andrew and Love Stikovich Hevalo.
Raised in Struthers, she was a 1945 graduate of Struthers High School. Mrs. Dimoff worked numerous jobs in the Youngstown and Pittsburgh area prior to meeting the love of her life. She married Stephen Dimoff on September 4, 1948 and became a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1998.
Mrs. Dimoff was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell.
The love Mary had for her family extended to her adopted daughters both at home and in Tennessee. Mary spent the last 2 and a half years of her life with her daughter in Mt. Juliet, TN. Mary fell in love with the southern culture and southern people. She enjoyed playing slot machines, the lottery and scratch off tickets, traveling, reading, being surrounded by family and friends, and warm sunny days.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Alyce Dimoff of Mt. Juliet, TN; two sons, Steven A. (Robert A. Hartsema) Dimoff of Washington, DC and Gerald A. (Deborah ) Dimoff of Struthers; two grandchildren, Steven (Allison) Dimoff of Struthers and Stacie (Joe) Belyusar of Lake Wylie, SC; and four great-grandchildren, twins, Rosalie and Olivia Dimoff and Kayla and A.J. Belyusar.
Mary will always be remembered for her strong spirit and will, always seeming to overcome obstacles with grace.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jennie Stropich and a brother, Joseph Stikovich.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 10:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Kevin E. Marks officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
