Together Again
Struthers - Mary S. Clayton, 82 of Struthers, died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic with her two sons at her side.
Mrs. Clayton was born November 13, 1927 in Youngstown, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Kusnir Sholtis.
She was a 1945 graduate of Chaney High School, and was a member of the St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was the Treasurer for the LSPCU, the Ladies Pennsylvania Slovak Catholic Union Branch 159. She loved playing Bingo at St. Nicholas and St. Luke Church and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Struthers Manor. She was an avid animal lover and loved to play cards with her friends on Saturday nights. Mrs. Clayton loved the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and for the past seven years her son, Robert and his wife, Tammi, would always take her to see them for her birthday. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her sons, grandchildren, family and friends; she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Her husband Robert J Clayton Sr., whom she married July 14, 1956 died November 18, 1989.
She leaves her two sons, Robert J. (Tammi) Clayton Jr. of Poland, & David (Karen) Clayton of Hubbard; one sister Eleanor (Sam) Sloban of Niles; two grandchildren Ashley Clayton and David Clayton Jr. of Hubbard, and their mother Carrie Clayton; and her beloved cat Tonya.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Joe Soltis, and a sister Helen Campolito.
There will be no calling hours.
Mass of Christian Burial will be, Wednesday at 10:00 am at the St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mary's name to the Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Road, Canfield, OH 44406-9419.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
