Mary Bunofsky, 86, of Struthers, died on Sunday, February 1, 2015 in Hampton Woods Nursing Center. She was born in Youngstown on September 6, 1928 to the late John Cipkala and Mary (Hamracek) Cipkala.
She was a 1946 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and married Edward Bunofsky in 1948 in St, Mathias Church.
Mary was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing and taking care of the house. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, Edward Bunofsky; two sons, Gary (Cindy) of Struthers and Ron of Youngstown; two daughters, Jerilynn (Tom) Leckrone of Columbus and Lori (David) Giancola of Struthers; grandchildren, Amy Pompeii, Gary Bunofsky Jr, Allison (Anthony) Giancola-Cycyk, Carly Giancola and David Giancola; great grandchildren, Gabrielle and Gino; her sister, Gertrude (Richard) Gross and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Clarence and Frank Cipkala and an infant son, Edward Bunofsky Jr.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Hampton Woods in Poland, where Mary made her home over the last year. The family would also like to thank the Hospice of the Valley staff for their compassionate care. In remembrance of Mary, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 5-7pm in the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St Poland and on Wednesday from 10-10:45am leading up to the funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery.
