Struthers - Martin "Marty" Pavlich, 87, of Struthers, OH, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Martin, affectionately known as "Marty," was born November 8, 1919 in Puritan, Pennsylvania, a son of Nick and Angelina Mary Bell Pavlich. He was raised in Farrell, PA and moved to Struthers in 1978. He attended Farrell High School and enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 serving in Hawaii and Oklahoma. He was a welder and machinist for Westinghouse for 30 years, retiring in 1979. Mr. Pavlich was a charter member of the Mahoning Valley Button Box Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Pavlich enjoyed wood working, crafts, computer games, and slots and dog racing at Wheeling, West Virginia. He also loved to travel and was an avid Steelers fan. Besides his wife, the former Irene Kasper, whom he married July 1, 1978, he leaves two daughters, Katherine (Luke) Felton-McCoy of Pensacola, FL, and Elizabeth Pavlich of Richmond, VA; two sons, John (Kitten) Pavlich of Lincolnton, GA, and Michael Pavlich of Augusta, GA; one step-son, Donald (Sandra) Lepley of Sagamore Hills, OH; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Pavlich was preceded in death by his brother, John Pavlich. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 1st, 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Cemetery Chapel, 3900 Villa Marie Rd, Lowellville. A luncheon will follow at the Becker Family Center, 10 Spring St., Struthers. Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
