Poland - Martha Troll, 93, of Poland, died early Thursday morning, November 21, 2013 at Northside Medical Center Valley Care.
Martha was born August 5, 1920 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Ina Young Milligan. She was raised in Youngstown and move to Poland in 1959.
A 1938 graduate Scienceville High School, Martha worked in the office for Ohio Edison and later as a cook for Poland Middle School. Martha was a former member of Gibson Heights Presbyterian Church.
Martha loved to cook, play in the dirt as she gardened, sitting around the fire at her Moraine Camplands, crafts, and playing cards. A great-niece of William Holmes McGuffey, Martha loved reading The Vindicator and keeping up with current events.
Her husband Anthony Albert "Sharkey" Troll, whom she married July 28, 1956, died July 14, 2003; she leaves two daughters, Connie (Larry) Sorrentino of Mineral Ridge and Terry Troll, with whom she made her home in Poland; one brother, Bill (Winnie) Milligan of New Middletown; one granddaughter, Adrienne Woodruff of Poland; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear dogs, Gizmo, Minnie and Molly.
Beside her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Milligan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12:00 noon at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, with Pastor Brian Ethridge officiating. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Poland.
Family and friends will be received Saturday from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the funeral home.
