Martha Sheok

Martha Sheok 95 Martha Sheok, 95, of Maplecrest Nursing Home formerly of 805 Poland Ave., died Thursday afternoon at the Nursing Home. Mrs. Sheok was born July 16, 1907 in Karlevec, Yugoslavia, a daughter of Vince and Anna Benko Blazic. She came to the United States in 1919 living both in New York and Michigan before coming to this area in 1920. She was a Matron at General Fireproofing for 14 years and worked as a clerk at the Central Store for 4 years, before retiring in 1973. She was a member of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Younstown. Her husband Frank Sheok whom she married June 9, 1922 died August 30, 1949. She leaves one daughter, Jennie Thomas of Struthers; two step-sisters, Zora Demchak of Austintown and Daisy Litch of Campbell; a half-brother, Vince Blazic of Campbell; two grandchildren, Alan Thomas and Susan Yug; and three great-grandchildren, Erik and Samantha Schnoerr, and Scott Thomas. One daughter Martha Yug; one sister Caroline Liplin and two step-brothers, John and Charles Blazina preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be Monday 9;15 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Peter and Paul Church. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
