Martha L. Menk

Martha L. Menk, 68, died Thursday afternoon, October 27, 2016, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Poland.
Martha, affectionately known by family and friends as "Marty," was born June 12, 1948 in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert and Carole Willson White.
Marty was a 1966 graduate of Boardman High School and received her Associate's Degree in Applied Business from Youngstown State University in 1982. She worked as an accountant for the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown for over 25 years. Marty loved her work and enjoyed her many friendships with co-workers she made over the years. She also had the opportunity to assist with the editing of the book, Butler Institute of American Art Index of Permanent Art .
Marty had a soft spot in her heart for dogs, and she enjoyed her companionship from her Labrador Retrievers over the years.
She is survived by her husband, Donald A. Menk, Jr., whom she married November 10, 1972; her daughter, Laura Menk of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Nancy White of Greensboro, NC and Susan White of Youngstown; and her brother, Jon White of Charlotte, NC.
In addition to her parents, Marty was preceded in death by her brother, Robert White.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, where family and friends will be received from 1:30-2:15 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Marty's name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512.
