Martha F. Hanshew, 80 CONNEAUT LAKE ­ Martha F. Hanshew, 80, of 12068 Sagwaw Dr., died Thursday evening at the Meadville Medical Center. Mrs. Hanshew was born May 3, 1927 in Poland, a daughter of Hugh and Blanche Cover. A 1945 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Mrs. Hanshew attended Mount Union College. Mrs. Hanshew worked as a physical therapy aid and worked for several nursing homes in our area. In her retirement years, she also volunteered at several hospitals in Florida. She was a member of the St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Meadville, Pa. Mrs. Hanshew was a former member of the Poland Presbyterian Church where she sang in its choir. Her husband Robert Hanshew, whom she married May 19, 1950, died February 19, 2005. Mrs. Hanshew leaves a daughter, Mary (Steve) Walla of Canfield; and a grandson, Robert Walla of Canfield. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Martin B. Hardy officiating.
