Lowellville- Martha Guidos, 87, died late Monday evening, October 7, 2013 at Maple Crest Nursing Home.
Martha was born October 31, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Jenny Cornelius.
A 1944 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Martha worked for many years at M M Beverage on South Avenue and then owned and operated, with her husband, the Burgundy Lounge in Coitsville for 20 years. She retired in 1993. Martha was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church.
Martha's husband, Richard "Shadow" Guidos, whom she married June 16, 1956, died June 28,1979. She is survived by one cousin, who was like a sister to her, Thelma Nestor; one niece, Lori Nestor; one nephew, Michael (Debra) Nestor; one sister-in-law, Blanche Sylvester; one brother-in-law, Norman (Mary Jane) Guidos; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Cornelius, and a special uncle, Frank Cornelius.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, 1:00 PM at Christ Our Savior Church Parish at Holy TrinityChurch, with Fr. Bernard Gaeta officiating. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
Family and Friends will be received Thursday from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM at the church.
