Martha Garman, 71 Poland- Martha Garman, 71 of James Place died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday evening at her residence. Mrs. Garman was born December 11, 1933 in Hubbard, a daughter of Raymond and Thelma Knight Anderson. In 1937 she moved to Struthers where she lived until moving to Poland in 1964. She was a 1951 graduate of Struthers High School and received her nursing degree from Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She was a registered nurse for Northside Hospital Maternity Ward from 1956 until 1958 and for Dr. Sovick from 1958 until 1961. After raising her family, Mrs Garman returned to nursing in 1983 at Woodside Receiving Hospital. She retired in 1987. Mrs. Garman was a member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church where she was a former Deacon and a member of the Gioras Sunday School Class. She belonged to various needlework and craft clubs and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her husband Richard D. Garman whom she married October 15, 1960 died August 6, 2002. She leaves a daughter Tammy (Dale) Finocchio of Poland; a son Thomas (Michele) Garman of Vienna; one sister Diane (Ronald) Democko of Boardman; one brother, Raymond (Patricia) Anderson of Sorrento, Florida and three grandsons, Samuel and Alex Finocchio and Dominic Garman. Funeral services will be Monday, 10:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at the funeral home.
