Martha L. Palascak Elgin, 88 Sebring, FL- Martha L. Palascak Elgin, 88, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Youngstown, died Friday evening after a brief illness. Mrs. Elgin was born October 30, 1914, in Youngstown a daughter of the late George and Anna M. Pavol Palascak. She was a 1932 graduate of South High School and was an area resident until her retirement in 1977. She worked as a supervisor at the Weatherby Raincoat Company, and then as an elevator girl at Strouss - Hirshbergâa�a��s, retiring from the shoe department in 1977 after 24 years of service. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers, the National Slovak Society, the Sokol USA Lodge #146, where she was active in gymnastics and served as the financial secretary, and was also a member of the Model T Club. Mrs. Elgin enjoyed gardening, crafting and sewing. She leaves a daughter: Bobbie and her husband Carl Dittmar; a sister: Louise Botsko; a brother: Edward Palascak; and two granddaughters: Terri and her husband Steve Comolli; Carol and her husband Michael Di Santis; and one grandson: Kevin Dittmar all of Struthers. She is preceded in death by her husband Emerson, whom she married April 26, 1952, and who died February 12, 1988; three sisters: Anne Mikulec; Helen Palascak; and Olga Pushkar; four brothers: John Palascak as an infant; George, Albert, Joseph Palascak. Friends may call Monday, from 4-7 PM, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Services will be Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home, and 10 AM at St. Nicholas Church.
