Martha Ellen Brown

Struthers - Martha Ellen Brown, 82, of Struthers, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mrs. Brown was born August 5, 1925 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of Lloyd Earl and Edna Mae Clapper Barthlow. She moved to this area 18 years ago after living in Barberton most of her life. A 1943 graduate of Canal Fulton High School, she worked at Ohio Edison in Akron for 45 years. She was a member of the Struthers Baptist Tabernacle Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the Ladiesâa�a�� Missionary Group. Mrs. Brown also enjoyed traveling and reading. Her husband, Fred Brown, whom she married December 11, 1948, died April 20, 1990. She leaves her sister, Betty Payne of Poland; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held today at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers at 11 a.m. Family and friends will be received today from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
