Poland - Marshall Phillip Tannehill, Jr., 57, of Poland, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Hospice House following a brief illness. Marshall was born Friday, May 25, 1951 in Youngstown, a son of Marshall Philbrick and Mary Therese Cronan Tannehill, Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a graduate of Youngstown State University, where he received his bachelor degree in education. Marshall was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at YSU. Marshall taught 7th grade at St. Patrick School in Hubbard for 2 years. He later worked as an insurance agent for Moore-Peterson Insurance Agency. Most recently, he was employed by Boardman Township. He enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, skiing, and motorcycles. He leaves two sons, Marshall P. Tannehill, III and Eric J. Tannehill, both of Poland; three sisters, Noel (John) Dickson of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, Mimi (Marcus) Kim of Boardman, and Christina (Rob) Yerian of Burgaw, North Carolina; and a brother, Terence Tannehill of Durango, Colorado. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Ervin. Family and friends will be received Sunday, October 19th from 1-2 p.m. at a family member's house at 1205 E. Calla Rd, Poland, Ohio 44514. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Marshall's name, in c/o Becker Funeral Homes, 11 Spring St., Struthers, Ohio 44471.
