North Lima- Marlene Jean Oddis, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
She was born July 18, 1940 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was the daughter of the late John MacKay and Caroline (Anheliger) MacKay of Cortland, Ohio.
Marlene was a 1956 graduate of Ursuline High School and attended Youngstown State University for two years. Marlene was the kind of person you would not forget. She worked in the banking industry for most of her adult life. She always went the extra mile for her customers.
She was a league bowler who could hold her own unless competing with her son. She was also an avid reader and loved the beach and sunshine. Visiting Italy and Hawaii were two adventures her family will always remember.
Marlene loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Alexander. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt, nana, and great friend to all. She will be deeply missed.
When you hear the song, "Hang on Sloopy," do a little dance and smile in her memory.
She leaves her loving husband, William Oddis of North Lima, Ohio; her daughter, Victoria (Nicholas) Catsoules and grandson, Alexander of Poland, Ohio; and her son, Stephen (Sandra) Bialik of Enon, Ohio.
Marlene was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, Steve Bialik; and her daughter, Veronica Bialik.
At Marlene's request, there will be no calling hours. However, there will be a Funeral of Divine Liturgy celebrated on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11a.m. at Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church, 7754 South Ave., Boardman, Ohio 44512.
