Mark C (Jr) Brooker

August 29, 1931 — January 24, 2016

Poland - Mark C. Brooker Jr, 84, died on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Select Specialty Hospital, Boardman Campus. Mark was born August 29, 1931 in Wexford, PA, son of the late Mark Sr. and Helen Havekotte Brooker.

He was a 1949 graduate of Mars High School where he was Valedictorian and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Business in 1953 from the University of Pennsylvania. He was employed as a sales executive with the Youngstown Vindicator for 38 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and was an avid Pittsburgh Sports fan.

He leaves his two sons, Mark C. (Sheila) Brooker III of Poland and John E. (Dotty) Brooker of Medina; four grandchildren, Noelle, Aprille, Madison and Krista Brooker; and two sisters, Ann Sailor of New Castle, PA and Louise Hackette of Cranberry, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Heidi Brooker in 1993 whom he married on December 10, 1955; his sister, Trudy Purvis and his brother, John Brooker.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Boardman and Select Specialty Hospital Boardman for their wonderful and compassionate care.

Prayer services will begin on Saturday at 9:30am at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated on Saturday at 10am at Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Rd. Poland, with the Rev. Msgr. William Connell as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-7pm and Saturday from 9-9:30am at the funeral home.
