Petersburg - Marjorie Ellen Stacy, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning, February 13, 2024.
Born April 13, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Harrold) Wilkeson.
She was a 1949 graduate of Springfield Township High School where she met the love of her life, Edward C. Stacy. They were married on March 17, 1951 and were blessed with 71 years of marriage before his death on December 4, 2022. They raised 6 children together and always looked forward to spending time with their large close-knit family.
Marjorie was a member of Petersburg Presbyterian Church where she baked the communion bread for years as her mother did before her. As one who loved to bake and cook, Marjorie welcomed anyone into her home with open arms and always offered a good meal to eat and some of her delicious home-canned fruit. Marjorie had a charming wit and liked to joke around with her loved ones. Her joys included leisurely moments on her swing, feeding and watching the birds, putting together puzzles, and tending to her beautiful orchids. Marjorie also found immense happiness in square dancing with her husband Ed, as well as attending the local fairs to watch and support him in his horse racing endeavors. Most of all, Marjorie loved being a mom and grandma to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her six children, Dolores (Richard) Parks of New Middletown, Ohio, Gary (Susan) Stacy of New Waterford, Ohio, James (Amy) Stacy, of Boardman, Ohio, Ronald (Judy) Stacy of Petersburg, Ohio, Richard (Michelle) Stacy of New Springfield, Ohio, and Lynda Shearer of York, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren, Diane Burns, William (Michele) Parks, Bradley (Jennifer) Parks, Bryan (Megan) Stacy, Daniel (Megan) Stacy, Ryan (Katlin) Stacy, Emily (Michael) Ciccone, Erica Shearer, Mark Shearer, and Laura Shearer; and eleven great-grandchildren, Connor, Julianna, Hunter, Millie Jo, Audrey, Austin, Kadence, Hannah, Ashlyn, Louis, and Emilio.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Wilkeson; sisters, Miriam Smith, Jane Simcox, and Helen Kawecki; and son-in-law, Blaine Shearer.
